According to an article by Gyedre Carneiro de Oliveira at the Legislação & Mercados portal, space has opened up for a promising market for investments in projects that generate carbon credits, estimated at between 30 billion and 50 billion dollars by 2030. And Brazil would have the conditions to account for 20% of the world market, equivalent to 6 billion dollars (or around 30 billion reais) by 2030. For rural producers, carbon credits represent a possibility of generating green income and real estate appreciation combined with preservation of the environment and the fight against climate change. Among many other details and steps for the elaboration of a Redd+ (Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation), ARR (Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation) or ALM ALM (Agricultural Land Management) project in an area, the article also elaborates Law 14.119/ 21, which regulated the payment for environmental services, the pecuniary consideration received for environmental services that carbon projects can generate, not integrating the calculation basis of Income Tax, Contribution on Net Income (CSLL), PIS / Pasep and Cofins , making the carbon market even more attractive.
